Give us 24 Hours and you can write/star in/run tech for an original 10 minute play!

Within 24 hours, each group of students will write, block, memorize, rehearse, and PUT ON a 10 minute play. Groups will be given a genre, a play title, one line that must be used in the play, and an unusual prop that must be used in the play. You can find or create costumes and set with fabric and boxes (each group will have $20 to spend on their costumes and/or set. They cannot spend more than this amount. But can use items found in their homes or in the Theatre classroom also.) The final plays will be put on in a show for the public on Saturday at 5pm. Anyone can attend and watch these amazing (or just really strange) shows! Students from ANY school may attend and you may put the name of 1 person that you would like to be in a group with on your registration form. Be ready to create and enjoy the process and pandemonium of theatre ALL happening in 24 hours!!

SCHEDULE:

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7th

5:00pm Arrive at Leon High School: Assigned to a Group, Get to Know Your Group Activities, Your group is given your GIVEN CIRCUMSTANCES (Title of Show, a Prop, a Line, a Genre)

6:00 Pizza Arrives: Working Dinner, Writing Begins, Roles are Assigned, Stage Times given out for next day, Light Cues demonstration at 7pm.

9:00pm: Everyone goes home. You may Group Text, FaceTime, collect items from your homes over night.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8th

10:00am: Arrive back at Leon. Each group will be given their hour on the stage, Each group will have a 15 meeting with the Lights/Sound board operator for anything they need to tell him. Sound cues must all be on a flash drive and you must have a script for our Master Technician with all Light and Sound cues noted clearly on the script.

1:00pm: LUNCH ARRIVES

3:00 DRESS REHEARSAL

5:00: SHOW TIME

The show is open to anyone who wishes to attend and is free of charge!

6:30: STRIKE Take everything you brought with you back with you and make sure the Theatre Room and Dressing Rooms are clean and clear!
