So, you want to Audition for Regionals?
1) Decide what you want to Audition for… There are three categories. You may audition for one event in each category.
CATEGORIES
ACTING: MONOLOGUE (Juniors and Seniors only), DUET (Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors), SMALL GROUP (anyone), PANTOMIME (anyone)
MUSICAL: SOLO, DUET, SMALL GROUP
TECHNICAL: Student Directing, Costume Design, Make-up Design, Playwriting, Publicity Direction, Production Design Team: 4-7 team members, Scene Design, Student Choreography, Student Directed Scenes
Our Troupe can take 8 of each category. Each student participating can do up to 2 performance and 1 tech event, or 2 tech and 1 performance. Not three of any one kind of event.

If you would like to audition for an ACTING I.E.:
You must submit a 1-2 minute Audition Self Taped Performance. PLEASE USE THE SELF TAPING GUIDELINE FOUND BELOW and submit your performance piece using your school email address to MarshallL1@LeonSchools.net & fill out this Google Form before midnight on September 25th. Submissions after that time/date will not be considered for Regionals.
If you are auditioning for a MONOLOGUE, your MONOLOGUE that you Audition with MUST be one of the two contrasting Monologues you will use for Regionals. Choose wisely and make sure it is from a published play. ONLY those auditioning with their monologue choice will be chosen for a Monologue for Districts.

If you are auditioning for a DUET, you may film a minute or two from the DUET you wish to use for your Regionals piece AND with the scene partner you wish to do the DUET with. Need a DUET scene? Come to the Theatre room and I have lots marked in scripts. Digital Students, find a DUET scene in a piece in the public domain. Moliere plays, Shakespeare, Sophocles, Ibsen, All these are in the public domain and have great duet scenes! Or find one from a publishing company where they let you preview most of the script. Here are a couple of great places… Playscripts, Dramatic Publishing, Theatrefolk, Pioneer.
If you have no idea what you want to do or who you want to do a scene with, you can use a monologue of your choice from a published play OR use a monologue from one of these plays (you will have to create an account and sign in to read the full free version of this play) to audition with…

If you would like to audition for a PANTOMIME, send in 1-2 minutes of you doing a PANTOMIME scene. Include some background music.
If you would like to audition for a MUSICAL I.E.:
You must submit a 1-2 minute Audition Self Taped Performance. PLEASE USE THE SELF TAPING GUIDELINE FOUND BELOW and submit your musical number using your school email address to MarshallL1@LeonSchools.net & fill out this Google Form before midnight on September 25th. Submissions after that time/date will not be considered for Regionals.
Submit a video of you singing 30 seconds- 1 minute of a musical number of your choice. Mrs. Peck will be making those selections.
If you would like to audition for a TECHNICAL I.E.:
You must submit a 1-2 minute Self Taped Explanation of the PLAY YOU ARE CHOOSING and the Technical I.E. you would like to do. PLEASE USE THE SELF TAPING GUIDELINE FOUND BELOW and submit your play choice and Technical I.E. ideas using your school email address to MarshallL1@LeonSchools.net & fill out this Google Form before midnight on September 25th. Submissions after that time/date will not be considered for Regionals.
2. SUBMIT YOUR GOOGLE FORM AND EMAIL YOUR SELF TAPED AUDITION TO Marshall1@Leonschools.net BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON September 25th.

SELF TAPING GUIDELINES
Please run your file through iMovie or another app and RENAME IT to your last name_first name (ex: Marshall_Lea) before uploading it. You may also film your SLATE separately from your audition and put both in the same file on iMovie or another app on your phone or computer.
If you are auditioning for multiple I.E.s, please put all your auditions IN ONE FILE for us. Again use iMovie or another app on your phone or computer to do that. There are lots of free video editing apps!
