THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO AUDITIONED! There are SO many talented students and we only have these precious few slots to fill. We wish we could cast EVERYONE but we are limited by the rules of Districts!
IF YOU ARE CAST: Please make plans to attend the THESPIAN WORKSHOP DAY on Saturday, September 17th. Sign up by clicking HERE. If you are cast in an ACTING I.E., I will be getting your script to you before the weekend. Stop by my room on Friday to pick it up. MONOLOGUE actors need to schedule a lunchtime with me to discuss monologue choices.
IF YOU WERE NOT CAST: Casting is like putting together a puzzle. We have pieces and people that just seem to fit in certain places. Just because you didn't "fit" with any of these scenes doesn't mean that you should stop auditioning. Or acting! So, take a breath and remember, many casting decisions are not about how talented you are, but who is the right fit for our limited spaces in the cast. Think about this... as much as we love Will Ferrell, he would never be cast as James Bond, or Amy Poehler as Katniss. Everything worth doing has a risk of not working out the first (or second) time. Auditioning for districts knowing that there is a chance that you won't be cast is a scary step, but necessary for growth. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THAT STEP. KEEP ON TAKING BOLD STEPS and one day it will happen! AND there may be slots that open up once rehearsal schedules are made and other commitments may cause actors or singers to not be able to rehearse with their group AND if a spot opens up, WE WILL CONTACT YOU!!! Please continue to attend Thespian Events (like Drama-Palooza and the Workshop Day.) These events will make you a stronger actor and ready for our auditions for To Kill A Mockingbird in January!
AND EVERYONE remember to remind your parents about the THESPIAN PARENT MEETING Thursday, Sept. 8th 5:30-6:30 in the auditorium!
